My name is Averley Van Orman, and I am the owner of White Pine Counselling. I am a Registered Social Worker (#14800) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (#11244134).

I hold a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Calgary and a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Athabasca.

While my formal education and ongoing training provide a strong foundation for working with clients of all ages to improve wellness, it is my relationship with my partner and parenting our children that greatly influences me as a counsellor and allows me to better understand the ups and downs that accompany relationships and parenting.

I believe that, while family and friends are great to have as support, sometimes it's refreshing to speak with a professional who will provide a non-judgmental, listening ear. My goal as a counselling therapist is to ask the right questions so you can make the decisions that are best for you.

I utilize various types of therapies tailored to fit the needs and wants of each client, but I primarily work from an attachment lens. For a brief overview of how attachment theory affects relationships, take a look at this short video: What Is Your Attachment Style? (youtube.com).

I offer both in-person and online appointments.

Please note that I do not offer online couples or family counselling appointments; I only provide in-person couples and family counselling sessions.

The fee for a 60-minute appointment is $180.

I accept most insurances, and direct billing is available.
